Introducing Nick Nicholson

Nick Keep an eye out for this new country artist, Nick Nicholson. He’s an East Tennessee native, from the Gray area I’ve been told, and he presently resides in Arizona.

Nick’s bio says he “grew up at the knee of his musical father, and learned to sing not only with his voice, but with his soul.” He said he wants people to feel what he sings. He started entertaining when he was 12 years old.

He served for eight years in the U.S. Air Force, and volunteers his time and talents at veterans’ events throughout the year.

Nick said he was inspired by Ray Charles, Conway Twitty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvis, and his dad. He said his own sound can be best described as rockin’ country. He has opened for a number of national acts in the Phoenix, Ariz. area – including Travis Tritt, Neal McCoy, Mark Wills, Eric Church, Ray Scott, Rodney Atkins, and Chris Young.

I haven’t had much opportunity to listen to Nick yet, but I do like what I’ve heard, particularly “Real Women Drive Pick-up Trucks,” and “Somethin’ Somethin’.

While Nick seems to be staying mostly in the Arizona area right now, he will be in Nashville June 6-8 during the CMA Music Festival (Fan Fair).

If you know anyone making a name for themselves in the world of Country music, let me know… I’d be more than happy to get something about them posted here.

Well I don’t know what he sounds like but he looks good, ha! Ya know the band that opened for Carrie at ETSU was good I thought. Singleton. I had never heard of them before! They said the band was a Universal recording artist, if I remember correctly. Maybe I’m saying that wrong I’m not sure. But they were good!

I have known Nick Nicholson since before he was in Kindergarten! His sister and I are best friends! I know his music is just awesome – and always has been. I would love to see him make it BIG in the country music industry. He has a great talent and is just a good ol’ country boy at heart. I wish the local radio stations would get some of his music to let people in this area hear is dynamic voice! Thanks for the feature. Everyone should check him out on his myspace page and just get a sample of his voice. Enjoy!

    Lora,
Thanks so much for your comment. I must admit that I had never heard of Nick, until Reggie Neel at WXBQ told me about him. I really liked the music I heard on his MySpace page. That is so neat that you have known him for such a long time! I read that he is in Arizona now, but that he was from Northeast Tennessee. Are you from that area, too? Are you still living in this area? Thanks so much for reading Country’s Chatter! And thanks. too, for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it.
