Hi everyone, I’m back. I hope you all had a great Easter.
I think there is only one country star who has never put out even one song I don’t like …. and that is George Strait. With 50 number one songs to his credit, he’s been entertaining for decades.
George was born May 18, 1952 in Poteat, Texas. He plays piano and guitar, records for MCA; and is affiliated with CMA, ASCAP, NARAS, AFTRA, AMC PRCA, and USTRC. He produces his music, along with his co-producer, Tony Brown.
These pictures were taken last year at Thompson-Bolling Arena in Knoxville. George is on the road now, and will be at the Colonial Center in Columbia, S.C. on April 5. Looking at his schedule, it doesn’t look like we’re going to find him any closer to our area than that for quite some time. He was in Richmond, Va., on Feb. 28.
I think his current single, “I Saw God Today,” is one of my favorite Strait songs. But then, I did say the man never recorded anything I don’t like – and I meant it. He’s a super entertainer, and I don’t think I could find too many people who would disagree with that.
